Bathtub options
for assisted living facilities have
been limited. Traditional household bathtubs
present accessibility problems and
are unsafe.
Institutional lift tubs are expensive to own
and to operate.
The home care
dilemma is
complicated by:
- The reality
that a large percentage of
clients in assisted living facilities do not
need lift tubs but can not access a regular tub.
- The risk
to clients of various forms of
bacterial infection related to the use
of piped whirlpool systems.
- The varied
ambulatory abilities of
clients and the need to promote
independence and preserve dignity.
- The trends
in assisted care which are encouraging more home-like,
friendlier environments.
The Supreme bathtub series was designed to address the gap between
regular household bathtubs and traditional lift
bathtubs used commonly in care facilities. |
Safety
Bath Inc. is aware of the
risk of infectious bacteria where bathtubs are used
by multiple clients in institutions and care homes.
To address this issue, we have developed the San Air Whirlpool System, a specially designed
air system which:
- Prohibits
fluids from entering and contaminating the whirlpool
system and eliminates
the risks of hazardous biofilm.
- Costs
less than an traditional lift bathtub and is more
economical to operate.
- Fosters
client independence.
- Reduces
caregiver injuries related to bathing.
- Can
be used wherever group facilities make it necessary
for many individuals to use the same bathtub.....assisted
living facilities, personal care homes, continuing
care facilities, adult day care programs, congregate
housing, board and care homes and as comfortable
alternatives in nursing homes.
